James Beard Foundation's Celebrity Chef Tour
On October 20, 2016, 1515 Restaurant hosted the only James Beard House Celebrity Chef Tour dinner in Denver. Nationally and locally renowned chefs came together to raise funds for the JBF October 20
Denver, CO – 1515 Restaurant was chosen to host the James Beard Foundation’s Celebrity Chef Tour’s 2017 Denver event, which brought together nationally-acclaimed chefs such as: Kevin Nashan of The Peacemaker and Sidney Street Cafe, St. Louis; Martin Rios of Restaurant Martín, Santa Fe, JBF
Award–Winning Pastry Chef Mindy Segal of Mindy’s HotChocolate Restaurant and Dessert Bar, Chicago; and Stephen Fried of Gullo Specialty Foods, based in Hicksville, NY; as well as, well-respected local chefs Laurent Mechin of the St Julien Hotel & Spa, Boulder; Mark Monette of Flagstaff House, Boulder; Jeff Cleary of Grateful Bread, based in Denver, and of course 1515 owner and executive chef Gene Tang.
Launched in 2004, the Celebrity Chef Tour Dinner Series is a national program showcasing culinary artistry and talent. Every year the Tour travels to more than 20 cities, features over 100 celebrity chefs, and attracts more than 2,500 guests, bringing the experience of dining at New York City’s historic James Beard House to people around the country. At each Celebrity Chef Tour dinner, top chefs create fantastic multi-course dinners, each paired with premium wines and/or beers. Just as at the James Beard House, guests have the rare opportunity to interact with these participating chefs while enjoying the luxurious atmosphere of the nation’s finest restaurants.
